"The new record is a double album and has two covers, like a magazine would have two covers. One of the covers is named I Am and the second cover is named Sasha Fierce. That is my alter ego and now she has a last name. I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am. That's why half the record, I Am is about who I am underneath all the makeup, underneath the lights, and underneath all the exciting star drama. And Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage."

Brandy was originally scheduled to drop her Human CD on November 11th. However, after a slow start for her first single, "Right Here (Departed)", her label made the decision to move the release date back to December 9th, hoping the later date would spur interest in not only the song but the album.
This is why Brandy is only going on the promotional trail now, starting with a stop at TRL! Watch her live performance below, and the official video of "Right Here".
Jermaine Jackson has announced in an Australian show that the Jackson 5 will be touring in 2009. This includes Michael and Janet as the opening act. The Jackson 5 will also get back together to make a new album.
Jermaine says: “This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together,” Jermaine told the Australian Associated Press. “It is just the timing, so what we’ve been doing is working on the music and all the logistics. It is going to be more like a family affair..Janet’s going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 … Michael, Randy and the whole family. … We’re in the studio, we’re planning on being out there next year.”

Joss Stone started recording songs for her next album in secret, to ensure her record label EMI didn't interfere with the direction she wanted to take.
Stone decided to make the bold decision to work in secret after EMI was taken over by Terra Firma. The company had a big shake up of the label, which left some bands - such as Radiohead and The Rolling Stones - quitting.
"I recorded the bulk of my new album in the space of a week in February this year," Stone is quoted as saying. "But it was like a secret - not a secret from the world, but a secret from the record company, because, basically, I didn't want them f*****g with it."
"EMI was going through a lot of change at the time. It's a very long story but there aren't many people left there that I know now."
"I recorded the album at my mum's house in Devon. It was like a building site at the time, so it was just me and a crew in two bare rooms with a mic."
The new album is the follow-up to last year's 'Meet Joss Stone' and will be her fourth album.
Here is a snippet of a new song titled "Dynamite" from Christina's upcoming "Keeps Gettin’ Better - A Decade Of Hits". I've also added new promotional pictures from the album. If you like the new direction Christina has taken, then you'll enjoy this new song.

In an exclusive interview with Billboard, Usher has announced plans on his new album.
"It will be all about adapting new musical styles in creating a unique blend between what I know works here in America and what I know will be appreciated worldwide. I may go to France and do some work. I may go to London ... Japan."
"There's tons of artists I want to work with abroad. I can't give you specific (names) but I am interested in working with artists who are out of the range I'm accustomed to. I want to try new things."
Usher hasn't started recording yet, however he will after his tour and plans and a new movie.
"There's tons (of songs) leftover from all four albums I've done," Usher acknowledged but added that "When I work I work ... based where I am and what my story is at the moment."
All of that will be on the backburner during the One Night Stand tour, however, which Usher promised will be "a night to remember." He said the concept was inspired by Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, Prince and other influences who "did things special like this for their female fans."
Everything from the repertoire to the stage set -- "It's intended to feel as though you're looking into my great room and here we are about to have a party in this house" -- has been tailored to the intended audience, and Usher is using his Web site to let those ladies register for meet 'n' greet opportunities and to be the one lucky woman brought on stage each night for an even more intimate experience with the singer.
As for his male fans, Usher said, "I cannot prohibit them from buying tickets and being part of it ... However, I do want them to know this show is catered specifically to women."
Solange teamed up with Snoop Dogg for the remix of her hit single "I Decided", and I must say it turned out great! Snoop was the perfect choice for teh remix!

Appearing briefly during Jay-Z's headlining set, Beyonce took the stage to perform 'Single Ladies,' the first single from "I Am..Sasha Fierce."

I miss posting about Prince, so here's the latest I have on him!
Prince and Jennifer Lopez awarded Donatella Versace with the "Superstar" award at Fashion Group International's annual Night of Stars on last Thursday.
When Versace came out to accept her award (a few seconds too early - the Prince song that was supposed to play as she made her entrance started late), she made sure to thank Prince for "being a superstar."
Mariah Carey has released a video in support of “I Stay In Love,” the fourth single featured on her current album. Husband Nick Cannon directed the new video in Las Vegas.
Christina Aguilera is getting a start on promotion for her upcoming Greatest Hits album with the release of a new music video in support of the Album's title track, “Keeps Gettin’ Better.”
The video is all about Aguilera traveling through time and costumes. “I really enjoyed making the video,” Aguilera says. “Being an artist who likes to play around with different looks, it was a lot of fun to portray various characters within the same shoot.”
In another setback on her "Rock Witchu" tour, Janet Jackson has lost her opening act: LL Cool J. The rapper's publicity firm announced Monday that he has dropped out as the headliner for Janet, because of unnamed scheduling conflicts.
It's the latest problem on Jackson's tour, her first North American outing in seven years. The 42-year-old singer was forced to cancel a string of earlier concerts because of a bout of migraine-associated vertigo. She recently resumed while being treated for the illness, which is characterized by dizziness, imbalance and other symptoms.
