George Michael Covers "True Faith"

George Michael has revamped New Order's True Faith hit to help raise cash for charity.

The proceeds from the single will go to Comic Relief, a British charity which previously received the proceeds from George Michael's "As" hit.

Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis is thrilled with George Michael'scontribution to the charity, revealing that he has been very generous with his cash and time in recent years.

"Over the years, George has been the most tremendous supporter of Comic Relief. Out of the blue one year he gave us all the cash from the release of As, his single with Mary J Blige. Then he did a brilliant Little Britain sketch".

"But, most excitingly, he's giving Comic Relief all the money from his new single, True Faith. It's always so moving when people stick with us year after year - and we're thrilled and delighted about the song, and the wonderful video that goes with it."

"We promise we'll use every penny we make from it to save and change lives in Africa and all over the UK." Richard Curtis, Vice Chair, Comic Relief

The video will premiere at on March 19th at the end of Comic Relief's annual Red Nose Day telethon.

Here's the original version of "True Faith", sung by New Order in 1987.

It is rumored that George Michael will be releasing a live DVD of one of his London concerts this December. The official date so far is December 7th.

The DVD and Blue Ray release was filmed last year in London's Earl Court, while George Michael was ending his "25 Live" tour.

Here's a taste of the footage you might see in George Michael's upcoming DVD:

George Michael and Alicia Keys - Live in Dubai!

George Michael and Alicia Keys turned the Abu Dhabi Zayed Sports City Stadium into a giant club on Monday night, giving their near 30,000 fans two unforgettable performances.

Alicia opened the night with Go Ahead from her latest 2007 album, "As I Am", followed by hits like "Fallin", "A Woman’s Worth" and "How Come You Don’t Call Me" from "Songs in A Minor" (2001), "You Don’t Know my Name", "Diary and Karma" from "The Diary of Alicia Keys" (2003), and "Superwoman", "Like You’ll Never See Me Again" and "Teenage Love Affair" (As I Am).

She exited backstage after singing an acoustic version of "Fallin". The crowd clapped and cheered long enough for her to return and perform the long-awaited hit "No One".

However, reviews confirm that the star of the evening was George Michael. Performing at his last tour concert, the final stop on his 25 Live Tour, Michael 45, showed that he remains the energetic showman and talented singer and songwriter he’s always been.

GM shook the stadium impressing three generations with hits such as "Fastlove", "Faith", "Listen Without Prejudice", "Father Figure", "Older" and "Patience".

New George Michael Song - "December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)"

George Michael is giving his fans a new Christmas song, which will be available for free on Christmas day, on www.georgemichael.com

"December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)" will get its first air play on Monday.

The song will be available on George Michael's official site and some other online music outlets, his spokeswoman said.

It is the first Christmas song to be released by GM since the 1984 classic Wham! hit "Last Christmas".

The new release was originally promised by the singer on stage during the last night of his Final two sell-out concerts at London’s Earls Court, billed as his “last arena shows in the UK”, in August.

It was written and produced by the singer and co-written with his friend David Austin.

George Michael - To Perform in Abu Dhabi

George Michael will be performing in Abu Dhabi in a lavish hotel in November. He recently announced that he would retire, however who could refuse a $1.7 million gig?

The singer performed at London's Earl Court in August in a set of final concerts dubbed The Final Two - fuelling speculation he is to quit performing.

According to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, tickets to the show are expected to be sold for US$340 each.

George Michael sure seems to be doing much better with this gig lined up after once again being arrested for possession of drugs in London last month.

Instead of Abu Dhabi, wouldn't everyone prefer to hear new music from GM?

George Michael - Arrested Again...

Sadly, George Michael still hasn't learnt his lesson and has once again been arrested for possessing class A and class C drugs (crack cocaine and cannabis). Apparently, he was arrested after a tip-off from a suspicious toilet attendant after he was seen loitering in underground loose in London's Hampstead Heath on Friday.

It's not the first time he was arrested, back in 2006 he was found slumped over the wheel of his car as a result of taking drugs. We also all know how he was arrested in 1998 in a public bathroom in L.A for indecent exposure.

The Home Office website stipulates that possession of a Class A drug can result in a prison sentence of up to seven years, an unlimited fine or both. But a Home Office spokesman said that “circumstances and context” must be taken into consideration in such cases and that drug laws needed to be “flexible” to not only punish drug use, but also to help those suffering from addiction.

As a huge George Michael fan, it is disappointing to see such a talented man resort to drugs so much to battle whatever demons he has in him. He clearly is troubled and can't seem to get out of it...

George Michael - Not Retiring Just Yet

After performing his first Earls Court concert, George Michael has announced that he will release a new Christmas song. This means that contrary to previous announcements, he won't be retiring yet. He will also release "Feeling Good", which he performed during his tour in the United States.

He wants a quieter life, but that might simply mean that he just won't be touring for a while. It doesn't mean that he'll put a stop to his singing career.

George Michael started the night with Fast Love, and said "It''s good to be home". The first half of the show included Father Figure and Too Funky as well as First Time I Ever Saw Your Face, from the album Songs From the Last Century, and Hard Day, from Faith, while the second half had solo hits, including Faith, Flawless and Careless Whisper.

Anyone Missing Wham?!

Well you might just get your wish and witness a special performance between George Michael and former Wham member Andrew Ridgeley. If confirmed, the concerts will take place at Earls Court, London, on August 24th & 25th. These will be the final dates of George Michael's astonishing 25 Live Tour.

"George is planning a series of surprises for his final shows. He's keeping his cards close to his chest, but many are predicting that he'll reunite with Andrew to sing a track or two."

George Michael also confirmed that this will be the end of his touring career. Let's hope that he'll change his mind in the near future, artists usually do.

George Michael Disses Dr. Phil!

I thought this was hilarious, George Michael took a small break during his L.A show this week to point out that Dr. Phil and his wife Robin were in the audiance. His wife was having a good time, but Phil had a sour face on. He also told him that he should see a shrink infront of the entire audiance! Watch the video below!

Well Dr. Phil, give me your tickets and a plane ticket to L.A I'll glady go see George Michael, and I will dance, sing, party all night long to celebrate his amazing concert!

By the way it was George Michael's birthday on June 25th, happy 45th birthday George!

George Michael - Feeling Good in San Jose!

From the opening notes of "Waiting" to the energetic finale of "Freedom 90," George brought the San Francisco Bay Area crowd to its feet for the 2-plus hour performance at the HP Pavilion in San Jose. (George Michael Official Site)

I've added two videos of GM "Feeling Good", "Freedom", and "Father Figure" (the visual effects were amazing) below. George recorded "Feeling Good" song at the request of the writers of TV Show, Eli Stone. The song played a key part of the Eli Stone Season One Finale. Interestingly, this wasn’t the writer’s first choice. According to George, they originally wanted him to sing “that Jackie Wilson” song. George responded that “I’m good, but I’m not Jackie Wilson!”, so George suggested the Nina Simone classic instead.

Here's a video of GM performing "Feeling Good" at San Jose.

George Michael's Launches 25 Live North American Tour!

George Michael launched his 25Live Tour last night in San Diego, and is set to perform in many more cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and New York.

George Michael about the show: "I've been doing a lot of work, changing [the show] and improving it," says Michael. "I'm dancing – or walking – on a stage that's completely illuminated."

The show, also features a special (video) cameo by Dita von Teese, who worked on a video for the song "Feeling Good."

Dita Von Teese about the video: "I’m a huge Wham! fan, and this will be the highlight of my career, I have been perfecting my routine and I’ve also been doing Pilates."

This is George Michael's first North American tour in 17 years and includes 22 cities.

George Michael's "Final Two"

George Michael just added two concert dates in the UK at Earls Court for August 24th and 25th. These two shows will mark the end of George's 25 Live Tour and will be called the Final Two. Inspired by his 1986 Wham! tour "The Final" at Wembley stadium in 1986.

George Michael started his 25Live tour in Barcelona in September 2006, and has played to over 1.3 million people in Europe. The tour has been promoted as a "must see" show, and I personally recommend it.

The final two shows will feature George Michael's hits, some tracks not previously performed in Britain, and a stunning new stage set!

Apparently George Michael will probably never perform a line up of concerts such as 25Live again, so make sure you get tickets to at least one of these fabulous last two shows.

George Michael Fanclub members have access to an special pre-sale that starts on Wednesday 11th June @ 7pm GBT. Tickets for both dates will go on sale to the public on Friday 13th June 2008 at 8am and can be purchased by calling the venue box office on 0870 903 9033 or the 24hr ticket hotline on 0844 847 1525. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.seetickets.com/ and http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/

George Michael and Dita Von Teese - Making Beautiful Music!

George Michael is currently working on a new single and probably new video with the exquisite burlesque artist Dita Von Teese.

Dita revealed that she’s making music with George Michael and said it will be highlight of her career.

She says, “I’m a huge Wham! enthusiast and this will be the highlight of my career.

“I’ve been perfecting my routine.”

Can't wait to see the video of this song, it's surely going to be spicy!

George Michael On American Idol!

George Michael sang "Praying For Time", which is one of his most beautiful and touching songs. I enjoyed his performance so much, what an incredible artist he is! All of you American fans out there, don't miss his 25Live show, it's absolutely amazing, I just can't say it enough, go see it more than once if you can!

In this video, you can see the top 12 performing "Faith" "Father Figure", and "Freedom", just before introducing George Michael. They did a good job introducing him, and of course George was phenomenal!
