Beyonce and Robert Downey Jr. are reportedly favourites for a remake of the 1937 “A Star Is Born” musical. Reports say that Director Nick Cassavettes is eyeing the both of them for the leading roles of Normal Maine and Esther Victoria Blodgett, aka Vicki Lester. John Hamm, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna are said to also be casted as possible supporting stars.
"A Star Is Born" was first released in 1937 and has been remade twice before, once with Judy Garland and James Mason in 1957, and once with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in 1976.
The project may be finished before the end of the year if all negotiations go through fine. It doesn’t sound like Beyonce is going to take her 6 month break after all, there are just too many opportunities for her out there.
